Have you already noticed our new user page? We wanted something that would help you use the Internet instead of trying to sell you on a service you already use. The result is our new "MyPage". We will be making changes as time goes on and more people add suggestions but we have already added some useful content. You will notice that the buttons and options reflect what our current customers want and we have been able to make better use of the page without all the necessary sales information found on the home page. With many people moving from Online Colorado to ALL SPEED INTERNET we have had many questions relating to email over the past few weeks. It was originally our intention to maintain the "onlinecol.com" domain for transferring users separate from our (allspeed.us) domain. We have had a great deal of interest from people with an Online Colorado email address who were interested in the shorter ALL SPEED address but were concerned with losing email in the switch. So, we have decided to automatically make all "onlinecol.com" email addresses also work with its matching "allspeed.us" address. This means that "fred@onlinecol.com" can also receive mail sent to "fred@allspeed.us". This will allow for anyone wanting to start using the "allspeed.us" email address to do so without losing any email that was sent to the "old" onlinecol.com address. This is scheduled to take effect after Friday, November 19th.
ALL SPEED INTERNET is in the final steps of a major upgrade to its mail services. We have recently upgraded to new servers to handle the increased load caused by our new virus and spam tools scheduled to come online Friday, November 19th. We have made minor adjustments to our virus scanning mail servers and added two more levels of spam protection. As before, our base level virus scanner and spam filter in automatically included for all our accounts. We have also added a new basic spam filter designed to catch more of the spam that gets past the built in protection we already provide. Because we are cautious about stopping valid mail, this filter is set at a level where it should catch much more spam, but still allow valid emails to get through. This new "basic" spam filtering is free for all users, but is only turned on by request. We will be posting more information about this new service and how you can use it soon. In order to keep the threshold high enough to allow valid emails in, we also have to keep it high enough that some spam gets by as well. To help stop even more spam but still let the good email go by we have to customize the settings to each individual user. We have accomplished this with our "advanced" spam filter. This filter allows users to change individual settings to match their preferences. Many advanced features are available including white and black lists, automatic comparison against Internet based "known spam" databases and more. Because of the increased cost to process emails through the "advanced" spam filter and addition resources used, we have added a nominal $1/month cost for users wishing to use the advanced spam filter. We will be posting more information about these services soon.
We are working on a new contest. It is going to be great fun with even better prizes. The only problem so far is that we don't know what they are. We have a couple reasons for mentioning this before it is finalized. First, we want your input. Do you prefer more smaller prizes making it easier to have more winners, or fewer larger prizes? How about suggestions for prizes? The other reason for mentioning this is to give you a head start. If you have read this far you are about to get a jump start on the competition. While we do not know all the ways you will be eligible to win we can tell you one of the easiest. If you refer anyone to ALL SPEED, and you can convince them to admit
to knowing you, and they tell us you sent them, it will help you in
the contest. We are keeping track right now so get started right
away to get ahead of the competition.
We appreciate all the referrals we receive from our current users. When our users send a friend, relative or coworker to us we consider that a sign we are providing a valuable service. We have looked for a way to show our appreciation. We thought about buying you lunch, tickets to a movie or any of a number of things. In the end we decided that you knew better what you wanted than we did. So, we are giving away $20 cold hard cash (or a room temperature check in the same amount) for each referral you send who mentions your name as the referrer (at the time they sign up) and remains an ALL SPEED INTERNET customer for 90 days. There is no maximum amount you can make, but you need to read
the details to make sure you get credit.
We have been making changes to our web site and upgrading equipment. We know that it is sometimes easy to miss something on a page you may not visit frequently. So, we have added a "recent changes" link on our "MyPage" that lists a few of the recent changes. This could be the addition on new services or updating of a web page. We have also decided to change the link color of items that have been
changed or added in the recent week. When you see a
link in red it indicates that the page it leads to has been recently changed.
