Overview
On Thursday December 29th, 2005
at 3 PM we will begin an upgrade to our mail spam filtering server. This operation
will be to upgrade our capability to catch more spam and virus.
This is an ongoing effort to combat the new methods spammers use to avoid detection.
This is expected to be completed within 30 minutes, but we have allocated a full hour to cover any unexpected problems.
Impact
-
We expect that for a 15-30 minute period spam that will normally be stopped will be delievered to users as normal mail.

Mail may be sent and delivered as normal, and this will not cause any email to be lost or undelivered.
Benefits
-
This maintenance will allow our spam servers to detect more spam from know spam comapnies.
-
Our artificial intelligence program will be able to "share" information about spam emails with other Internet services increasing the reliability of detection.
